The Education Services Content Strategist is the primary liaison between Education Services, product Business Unit (BU) and Worldwide Readiness, Assessment, Certification and Enablement (WWRACE). The Content Strategist provides an Education Services point of influence into the enablement content roadmaps for new and existing products and a conduit for WWRACE and The BU to provide updates to Education Services. Working closely with Education Services Leaders and Product Management, as well as WWRACE Content Leadership, the Content Strategists helps drive Education Services offerings that maximize customers’ ability to quickly and successfully consume VMware technology. The Content Strategist works end-to-end, helping shape those service offerings by shaping the content created and curated by WWRACE that ultimately underlines Educations services offerings.

Job Role and Responsibilities:

The Content Strategist will be considered an extended member of the Education Services leadership team and will work equally with Education Services and WWRACE stakeholders to ensure alignment and cohesion. The role will report into the Director of Technical Services Center of Excellence, WWRACE.

Ideal candidates have a demonstrated ability to lead collaborative, data-driven business planning efforts and are outstanding in relationship-building & stakeholder engagement. He/she is entrepreneurial, enjoys working with technical teams, can easily distill which factors are important, is a self-directed learner and has a demonstrated passion for customer success.

  • Lead the alignment of service planning and readiness between WWRACE and Education Services. Serve as single point of accountability for roadmap alignment. Manage process & stakeholders to meet corporate planning timelines and deliverables.

  • Responsible for Education Services/WWRACE interlock in annual planning cycles. Ensure WWRACE plans support Education Services goals and are achievable. Liaise with Education Services geo leadership to implement plans that support the GEO’s overall plan.

  • Work with WWRACE leadership to ensure sufficient resources exist to support Education Services objectives.

  • Provides single view of WWRACE to Education Services. E.g. skills and capacity; content staffing lead times; product/content issues; project escalation and resolution; etc

  • Understand market and customer requirements to drive business insights and identify opportunities for Education Services evolution. Partner with Education Services to develop strategies to manage shifts. E

  • Responsible for balancing investment in cost of service/scale initiatives with market penetration goals that change throughout a offering’s lifecycle.

  • Coordinate product updates from BU to Education Services stakeholders globally so Education Services are uniformly made aware of product/content roadmap, value proposition, issues, tips, etc

  • Trusted advisor and “one-stop-shop” for all Education Services and WWRACE

  • Pervasive air of collaboration, partnership and trust exists between Education Services and WWRACE

  • High quality, aligned business plan exists between Education Services and WWRACE

  • Reporting against key business metrics (e.g. revenue, consumption, etc) is defined, produced and is “single source of truth” for both Education Services and WWRACE

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to influence across several functions to achieve results

  • Ability to create environment of collaboration and win/win for WWRACE and Education Services

  • Ability to drive data-based decisions and business justifications

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong presentation skills and presence in front of executive stakeholders

  • Knowledge of product lifecycle, Content process and lifecycle planning and product management strongly preferred

  • Sufficient subject matter expertise in Education Services to be able to be credible with all stakeholders

  • Ability and desire to quickly learn new technology and products

  • Experience and knowledge of customer requirements and challenges

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with online education / platform development required

  • 2+ years’ experience with Modern App and/or Cybersecurity portfolio preferred

  • Significant commercial experience with customer education services is preferred.

  • Must have high technical aptitude

  • Experience in positioning, managing and/or developing customer education programs is required.
