Emory University Data Analyst in Atlanta, Georgia

JOB DESCRIPTION: Creates and maintains a data dictionary and meta data. Supports efforts to ensure that data standards are developed and maintained. Ensures that the uses of data through reports and queries are accurate. Supports business and system re-engineering and architecture development to define future data needs. Serves as an organizational consultant on matters relating to databases by providing expertise to assist users in meeting their needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of experience in processes and standards related to data and a bachelor's degree.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and develop standardized operational, management, and ad hoc reports.

  2. Prepare reports related to funding, awards and various enrollment management benchmarks.

  3. Assist Data Manager in collaboration with internal and external constituents including institutional research and enrollment management administrators to provide data for decision making and strategic planning.

  4. Coordinate relationships with various staff across the institution to assure that data management services are responsive to their needs.

  5. Assist with outside agency’s audits.

  6. Assist with preparation, extraction and validation of student data for internal and external agencies including reporting to Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), Common Data Set, Peterson’s Annual survey’s, Princeton Review, US News & World Report’s survey’s, Forbes Business, FISKE, Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation, LCME, etc.

  7. Write and document report procedures for the office.

  8. Assist Data Manager with data preparation need in organizations strategic planning.

  9. Attend campus IT briefings to keep track of changes around the campus and apply the changes to the department as appropriate.

  10. Serve as a resource person in areas of data management and reporting.

  11. Reports to Data Manager

Preference: PeopleSoft experience, data/statistic modeling, advanced excel skills, SPSS, Tableau, enrollment service (Financial Aid in particular) experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills
