EGL has extensive expertise in genetic testing for rare diseases, metabolic diseases, autism, intellectual disabilities, and congenital disorders of glycosylation.EGL Genetic Diagnostics LLC is searching for a Case Coordinator in Tucker, GA .Case Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :* Manages flow of patient samples within a laboratory section or laboratory to ensure efficiency in laboratory processes.* Demonstrates a basic understanding of established and new laboratory procedures.* Works with Laboratory Supervisors and technical staff to ensure that routine and problem cases are resolved in a timely manner.* Serves as a liaison between Emory Genetics Laboratory (EGL) and clinical genetic counselors, physicians, and clients.* Receives notification of customer service complaints concerning technical issues and initiates a resolution process.* Communicates directly with customers to understand and resolve issues in an efficient and timely manner.* Conveys technical information regarding laboratory tests in a manner easily understood by non-laboratory medical personnel.* Serves as an advocate for the client and is viewed as a trust ed consultant.* Performs related responsibilities as required.The ideal candidate would possess :* Familiarity with clinical lab testing requirements and operations, including quality control, training, and documentation* Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills* Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude* Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policiesBasic Minimum Qualifications :* Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or a related scientific discipline and three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.* National certification in a relevant laboratory specialty (e.g. American Society for Clinical Pathology in Molecular Biology or Cytogenetics) is preferred.* Excellent communication skills with written and spoken English* Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipPosition is full-time, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m., with overtime as needed.
