Position Title Assistant Director of English Language Institute Admissions Department English Language Institute Division General University Vacancy Number 19-144 Work Location Atlanta, GA Job Type Full-time Job Category Staff Responsibilities The purpose of this position is to manage admissions, enrollment management, and marketing for the English Language Institute at Mercer University. The objectives of this position include increasing the number and diversity of students enrolling in the ELI, building and managing recruiting agent relationships, building and managing institutional relationships that result in short-term special programs for the ELI, and facilitating the matriculation of ELI students into Mercer academic programs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to developing marketing materials according to the ELI mission and target audience needs, managing digital marketing platformsincluding ELI website, collecting and analyzing enrollment and student satisfaction data, assisting with developing recruitment strategy according to industry trends, managing leads, managing applications, evaluating foreign transcripts, leading admissions decisions, creating student records in student information system, working closely with DSO to facilitate visa applications for prospective students, managing agent relationships and providing training to agents on the ELI program, mission, and completion requirements as well as student services and local attractions, managing student access to student services on the Atlanta campus, managing extra-curricular programs for enrolled students, writing proposals and assisting in the negotiation of special contracts for short-term groups of students, assisting with grant applications for hosting special groups of international students, organizing international day and graduation celebrations, liaising with academic units across Mercer and with admissions personnel to facilitate matriculation of ELI graduates to Mercer programs, and other duties as assigned. The candidate is expected to act independently under indirect supervision from the director of the ELI. Required Qualifications A bachelors degree from an accredited college/university is required along with a year of related experience which can include professional admissions office experience, experience working with international students and diverse populations, and/or living or working abroad. Candidates with master's degrees and/or degrees in marketing, international affairs, entrepreneurship backgrounds are highly desirable, as well as candidates who are proficient in one or more foreign languages and/or have experience evaluating transcripts. The successful candidate should be proficient in the use of computer databases, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, and Adobe Acrobat. Candidates must have a valid drivers license and be eligible for coverageunder Mercers Insurance policy as the person in this position is responsiblefor driving a 14-passenger van on a regular basis.
