This position will be responsible for providing administrative support to teams within Southern Company Services’ (SCS) Finance & Treasury team in Atlanta. The position will also work with other support staff within SCS Finance & Treasury.

This role requires outstanding organizational skills, along with the ability to multitask. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, proactive, and possess the ability to work through competing priorities with minimal supervision and direction. This position routinely interacts with company executives across the organization and external financial institutions.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: appropriately responding to and managing telephone calls and mail/email requests; preparing and organizing meeting materials; scheduling and coordinating meetings and conference calls and related logistics; making travel arrangements (i.e. airline tickets, lodging, transportation, etc.); handling expense reports and purchasing supplies (using, but not limited to Oracle AP and iExpense); maintaining multiple calendars; timekeeping (provide inputs and reporting for SHIPS and eSTARS); routinely maintaining confidential information; managing access and permissions to shared network drives for the Finance and Treasury organization, and handling other miscellaneous functions as needed.

Job Requirements:

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Advanced training or a college degree is a plus.

  • Professional certification a plus.

  • Successful completion of the EEI SASS (Clerical) pre-employment test.

Experience Requirements:

  • Candidates should have successful experience providing administrative support and services to individual managers and groups.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • The ideal candidate is technically savvy, comfortable with technology and embraces the opportunity to develop new skills.

  • Must have high proficiency with computers in general and be fully capable with the Microsoft Office suite ((i.e., Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).

  • Must have the ability to use SHIPS, eSTARS, iExpense, and other company specific software.

  • Knowledge and use of general office administration/management practices and equipment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills, including good listening skills.

  • Ability to proactively problem-solve, make decisions, anticipate next steps, implement solutions and monitor progress for multiple projects.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, prioritization, time management and calendar management skills.
