Position Purpose & Summary

This position provides APAC A&F with continuous improvement thought leadership, tools and methodologies, and leads the implementation of standardized processes and technological improvements. It partners with the Global Process Organization in understanding top quartile process objectives and develops the APAC A&F strategy to meet those objectives. This role identifies and prioritizes process improvement opportunities for end-to-end financial processes. It works closely with the APAC Controls domain to ensure that financial controls are properly designed and that process documentation is updated for process changes. This position oversees ERP and financial system implementations in the APAC businesses to ensure that financial processes are aligned with GPO objectives and deployed consistently. It leads the planning and resourcing of finance resources required for ERP and system implementations and ensures an effective implementation framework. This role develops the financial system expertise required in APAC A&F to enable effective financial processes and to streamline business and process changes. In coordination with the GPO, the Process Improvement Lead communicates new and revised policies and procedures, ensures that standards and procedures are followed, and identifies and communicates exceptions and deviations.This position plays a lead role in project and change management for APAC A&F process initiatives.

Principal Accountabilities

45% Lead Continuous Improvement, Process & Technology Standardization and Optimization

  • Provide thought leadership for continuous improvement vision and strategy for APAC A&F

  • Partner with the Global Process Organization to understand top quartile process objectives and develop the plans to achieve those objectives

  • Bring visibility to current state, identify, prioritize, and resource process improvement and standardization opportunities in end-to-end financial processes, working closely with the GPO

  • Define base line and benchmark process and solutions against external best practice to ‘bring the outside in’

  • Assist the GPO in developing project value realization for continuous improvement initiatives

  • Seek opportunities to maximize benefits of deployed technologies in the Finance IT portfolio

  • Partner with the APAC A&F domain leads to define and build the process and technology skills and capabilities required

  • Engage with finance and upstream (procurement, commercial, supply chain, etc.) process stakeholders on continuous improvement projects

  • Partner with the APAC Controls domain to ensure that financial controls are properly designed and process documentation is updated for process changes

  • Collaborate across regions to create and leverage best practices

  • Communicate new and revised policies and procedures, ensure standards and procedures are followed, and identify and notify exceptions and deviations to the GPO and the APAC A&F domain leads to drive alignment and consistency

  • Bring project management expertise and discipline to APAC A&F initiatives.

30% Oversee ERP and Financial System Implementations

  • Provide guidance and leadership for ERP and financial system deployments to maximizing the value, manage expectations, ensure adequate resource planning, and maintain performance standards

  • Apply a holistic view of end-to-end financial processes and how those are enabled with system solutions

  • Partner with Corporate IT and A&F to identify the critical needs of technology and develop the strategic portfolio for APAC

  • Ensure an effective framework for system implementations

  • Evaluate complex and unique business practices for streamlined solutions that align with ERP standard functionality

  • Develop training and change management strategies to build sustainable capabilities in system expertise

25% Lead and Develop People

  • Provide the vision and direction to the process improvement team for top quartile process objectives

  • Coach and mentor employees for development and continuous improvement understanding

  • Empower team to initiate change, leverage diversity, promote recognition, engage employees and drive for results

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Skills

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Minimum 10 years of accounting or finance experience in leadership positions

  • Experience with finance process and process improvement methodology, modeling and tools

  • Demonstrated ability to create a team culture of continuous improvement, process optimization, and intellectual curiosity

  • Ability to create and sustain a vision

  • Demonstrated change agility and change management skills

  • Highly effective people leadership skills which motivates for high performance

  • Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to communicate, influence and build trust across multiple stakeholder groups

  • Proven accounting/finance leader with strong problem solving, analytical, and risk assessment skills

  • Understanding and experience working in ERPs (SAP and/or JDE) implementation projects

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and use technology to improve process and control

  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • ERP implementation experience

  • Experience with multiple businesses and/or international business experience
