The Portfolio Development Lead will shepherd products through the end-to-end process, from ideation through commercialization, engaging critical parties as required across both Gerber US and broader Nestle. The Portfolio Development Lead will have the opportunity to substantially influence innovation portfolio through active performance tracking and management.
Day to day Project Management:
Execute as per the I2L flow: Apply project management tools and skills to ensure the on-scope, on-time and on-quality launch and flawless execution of I&R projects of simple to medium complexity from Identify (or later entry stage) to end of delivery stage.
Ensure all product development and innovation stage-gates and requirements are met, and maintains timeline;
Drive new product launches, including managing the process to successfully scope, develop, and launch new products;
Develop scalable systems and processes to support new launches;
Work with suppliers and co-manufacturers to maintain development timelines;
Track projects, manage development timelines and facilitate the day-to-day aspects of a project and scope;
Communicate product development strategy, updates and risk to senior management and broader organization; and
Allocate resources against project objectives.
Building awareness and influence among senior leadership to make optimal prioritization and commercialization decisions;
Participate in monthly portfolio review meetings with relevant stakeholders (brand managers, operations leads, commercialization leads, Innovation Associate Brand Managers);
Represent innovation projects with multiple stakeholders including brand marketing, operations, finance, and sales;
Perform in a fast-paced environment while continuing to be detail-focused/energized;
Exercise strong communication skills with collaborative spirit to move projects forward; and
Ability to collaborate and drive cross-functional consensus; business-and innovation-savvy.
Minimum 5 years of cross-functional experience gained through participation in I&R projects, or through mission/assignment in various organizations
2 to 3 years of project management experience
Has successfully shown leadership skills within a cross-functional team
Has worked in a matrix-like structure
Has demonstrated courage and ability to solve problems
Proven communication skills
Self-starter able to build and execute an approach in an ambiguous context
Experienced with managing multiple work streams in a fast-paced environment with the ability to shift priorities as needed
Well versed in variety of innovation and development approaches, technically savvy with metrics and analytics
Ability to collaborate and drive cross-functional consensus; business-and innovation-savvy
Demonstrated proactive and collaborative leadership
Bachelor of Science degree required
