This newly created position offers a unique opportunity to help define Nestlé USA’s E-Business structure and strategy, with a focus on financial oversight and facilitating key decisions related to ensuring profitable growth and return on investments. Financial oversight includes strategic planning, commercial spend review, forecasting, reporting, and ad-hoc analyses, with an emphasis on maintaining sound financial controls around commercial spending. The position offers the opportunity to serve as a strategic business partner to the E-Business commercial team, including Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and other key business functions responsible for short and long term business objectives. The successful individual will have a strong finance or accounting background, superior communication and people skills, ability to learn quickly, a solid understanding of Nestlé (or another FMCG/CPG business), and the ability to deliver high performance work both within a team and independently. The Key Performance indicators are sales volume, real internal growth, organic growth, trade, and profit. The key quality indicators are commercial spend management, forecasting and customer service.


Commercial Spend Plans

  • Work proactively with Sales and Marketing during annual planning, ensuring alignment with Commercial Action Plans and ROI thresholds for trade and PFME

  • Review plan adjustments as needed throughout the year

  • Use analytics to ensure efficient allocation of commercial spend and customer strategy

  • Partner with Shopper marketing to ensure strong alignment of commercial plans with E-business initiatives.

Business Reviews

  • Drive monthly Business Review process, including analytical review of monthly/annual forecasts and promotional plan performance - leading to objective, timely and fact-based communication of opportunities and gaps to the E-Business leadership

  • Meet with Sales team to understand variances to goals, on both sales and trade. Communicate results and work with team to develop gap closing opportunities.

  • Work closely with Trade Insight analysts on Post Promotional Analysis and collaborate with CAMs to improve promotional profitability

  • Work closely with Division Finance team to understand overall changes in business strategy and impacts to customer, and targets

P&L Analysis

  • Further develop and refine customer and SKU level profitability reporting

  • Perform financial modeling and scenario planning to analyze cross-functional business results and opportunities

  • Analyze results and trends; provide guidance to leadership

  • Analyze E-business investments return by customer and define changes in strategies if is required

  • Partner with CAMs and to build and review incremental sales/investment opportunities

  • Provide insight to improve forecasting accuracy

  • Perform ad hoc analyses and work on special projects as required

Business Processes

  • Help drive annual account planning

  • Assess and determine how to apply Monthly Business Planning to E-Business

  • Assess E-business budget changes and reclassification as required in a quarterly basis

  • Manage, facilitate and participate in ICP, NPDI and establishing an Operating Plan

  • Establish and document best practices


  • College degree required; Bachelor in Accounting/Finance or equivalent required.

  • 3-5 years finance management experience in Consumer Goods company/industry preferred.

  • Previous experience with P&L Analysis, a plus

  • Intermediate/Advanced in Excel and SAP (or other ERP System) preferred.

  • Strong data management and analytical skills, and critically important to be able to deliver the message to non-finance professionals

  • Excellent inter-personal communication and the ability to influence others; negotiation skills a plus

  • Self-starter and shows initiative and quickly learns the specifics of the customer and sales finance.

  • Strong Excel and data management skills

  • SAP (including BW)

  • ISW (Oracle) knowledge a plus but can be learned

  • Experience in generating reports

  • Demonstrable experience illustrating insights from data through statistics or data visualization
