GM Financial Sr Business Systems Analyst- Rules Configuration in Arlington, Texas

The Sr Business Systems Analyst, under limited supervision, provides system support for complex business rules, rule issues, and rule projects for Commercial Vehicle Originations Systems (CVOS) related software applications used by the Commercial Credit and Commercial Funding departments. These responsibilities include the gathering and documenting of requirements to facilitate enhancements, changes and/or fixes within CVOS. Additional support includes Corticon configuration and maintenance, system testing, and end-user production support. The CVL Rules BSA will be involved throughout the software development lifecycle as the requirements subject matter expert and is expected to take ownership for the delivery of the solution. Additionally, the CVL Rules BSA will provide both technical and functional support to the end-users and will have an advanced understanding of the business processes and how those processes relate to the associated business applications for both Credit and Funding with multiple products including APR and Lease.

JOB DUTIES

  • Formulate and define CVL Credit and Funding Business Rules scope and objectives based on the business needs, a thorough understanding of business systems, and industry standards

  • Gather, analyze and document business and functional requirements and recommend innovative solutions

  • Plan, organize and direct the implementation of business solutions in accordance with the company and organizational strategies

  • Develop and manage relationships with business, internal and external IT partners to provide technology based solutions to business needs

  • Perform intermediate level analysis to creatively solve problems

  • Support development, QA, and UAT activities as it pertains to system functionality throughout the project lifecycle

  • Identify application risk, impacts, options and recommendations for mitigation

  • Create and maintain process flows, component diagrams, and detailed process functionality

  • Maintain advanced level technical and functional awareness and competence of supported business applications, and organizational and industry technology standards

  • Participate in CVL Rules deployments which includes after-hours support as needed

Knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of business processes for supported business groups

  • Advanced knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations

  • Strong knowledge of relational database structures, models, and diagrams

  • Knowledge of business processes for supported business groups

  • Knowledge of GM Financials core business functions, policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations

  • Knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards and best practices

  • Significant experience in a large and complex business environment

  • Working knowledge of all system applications

  • Working knowledge of information systems and operations systems for supported business groups

  • Working knowledge of the Corporate Business solution environment

  • Knowledge of banking/financial transactions

  • Knowledge of general ledger and accounting

Skills

  • Ability to effectively lead, organize, and supervise

  • Ability to meet expected delivery dates and the tasks necessary to achieve objectives

  • Must be a self-starter and able to manage the investigations function with minimal supervision

  • Strong ability to analyze data using Excel for reporting and data mining purposes

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree in Computer Studies or related Business area preferred

Experience

  • 3-5 years experience in the above proficiencies; experience with integrating various applications preferred

  • 5-7 years preferred
