Cabot Corporation Regulatory Affairs Associate in Ans/Loncin, Belgium

The Regulatory Affairs Associate works to ensure that Cabot’s products are meeting all applicable regulations by:

  • Providing regulatory support and expertise to help enable the manufacture and sale of Cabot’s products on a global basis

  • Advising on issues of compliance, as well as preparing existing and new chemical submissions to National authorities according to country notification requirements

  • Assisting Cabot businesses in responding to customers inquiries regarding the regulatory status of Cabot’s products

  • Track, interpret and monitor existing and pending product regulatory requirements and make strategic recommendations and lead advocacy efforts through industry group participation. Ensure awareness of all applicable laws and regulations by maintaining a contact within businesses supported.

  • Participate in developing regulatory strategies for products and markets, and in regulatory advocacy in support of products.

  • Implement procedures to ensure product regulatory compliance with chemical control laws such as EU Reach, US TSCA, and other emerging chemical regulations.

  • Develop training to educate colleagues on pertinent chemical control laws and their impact on Cabot’s products and markets.

  • Develop product risk assessment to ensure compliance with applications-/products-type regulations.

  • Collect and analyze data on Cabot’s products.

  • Develop and/or review product safety data sheets and labels for compliance with Global Health and Safety and country-specific hazard communication requirements.

  • Participate in developing processes and systems to effectively manage product regulatory issues and ensure sustainable compliance.

  • Actively participate in industry and trade group activity in support of Cabot’s products and markets.

  • Strong knowledge of national and international applications and chemical control regulations

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and SharePoint

  • Teamwork and cooperation

  • Attention to details a must

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in chemistry (preferred), biology, engineering or applicable science; advanced degree & certification preferred

  • 1-5 years prior experience in chemical regulatory or chemical lobbying position
