Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Thread Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located at Annapolis Junction, MD.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The team is responsible for receiving disparate data formats and transforming that data into corporate compliant data formats. The work includes both defining the data modeling to represent the new data as well as developing the products to produce the compliant data. Coordination of format additions and new requirements to downstream data processing/ingestion systems is a key responsibility.

Specific duties include:

Working with customers to define how the data is used and drive both the data modeling and data flow requirements. Once requirements are defined, work with the development teams to implement, validate and test the end-to-end functionality.

Work with Enterprise Systems to propagate new data and processing requirements

Once deployed, provide troubleshooting and resolution for both internal and external system problems, as well as external customer-related data flow issues.

Troubleshooting day-to-day system related issues and provide direct support, in collaboration with product teams, to ends users via JIRA ticketing.

Extensive interaction with multi-disciplined product teams

Support release planning and deployment installations; communicate important information about systems maintenance, changes, events, and address concerns regarding any aspect of operational services for the team's threads.

Basic Qualifications:

Education Requirement:

Bachelor's Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional system engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities needed.

7 years of experience as a Systems Engineer

Must have 4 years within the last 7 in:

Data analyst, expert knowledge of corporate data formats and encodings

Knowledge of NIFI corporate community processors

Large scale corporate end to end dataflow for production and test

Large scale SIGINT data domain experience

Large scale corporate dataflow troubleshooting and monitoring

Expert Knowledge for corporate data security architecture

Experience with JIRA, Confluence, NIFI, and XML

Security Clearance: Candidates must have TS//SCI clearance with polygraph

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these skills will be given preferential consideration.

Experience with full end-to-end data processing, testing, and integration

Experience with legal and policy compliance

Large Scale Corporate dataflow troubleshooting and monitoring

Experience in low latency dataflow fabrics
