Are you a degreed Electrical Engineer that likes project diversity and stability? Do you like client interface and travel? We are looking for a strong Sr. or Principal level Electrical Engineer to support a major client with facilities across the US and internationally. Our Engineers don’t just sit in a cubicle. They interact with other disciplines and clients,perform facilities and building assessments mentor and provide consultations back to the client on needed improvements. Facility/Buildings may include general office buildings, large data centers, employee support buildings, labs or research facilities, guard shacks, etc…

Parsons is seeking an Electrical Engineer to review third party design modifications and improvements to electrical systems and components for data centers and mission critical facilities. The selected candidate will assure conformance to the intent of the client's facilities and campus infrastructure improvement programs, industry design standards, and applicable electrical codes.

In this capacity, you will perform design reviews, evaluate constructability, and make recommendations to increase energy efficiencies, help resolve technical issues, mentor, and manage information generated through the design and construction phases of multiple and concurrent projects. You may interface with technical peers, clients, third-party design professionals, construction contractors, and other stakeholders.

Keys to your success will be your expertise in medium and low voltage electrical systems including substations and transformers; experience with SCADA systems; background in testing, data center or facility modernization experiences; and engineering energy efficiency, security and sustainability to the electrical systems

Travel is typically scheduled in advance and travel can be two days to a few weeks, depending on the size of the campus or if there are multiple buildings within the campus. Must be comfortable performing client presentations and electrical walk-downs on site, and working within classified databases.


  • Must haveelectrical engineering experience with broad based electrical knowledge and experience and prefer experience with building assessments on large electrical systems. Prefer candidates with experience in design and construction of electrical systems.

  • Knowledge of design components and track record of selecting energy and cost efficient electrical systems and equipment for secure facilities

  • Must be able to plan and execute multiple technical tasks concurrently

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prefer prior experience in a similar, consultative type of role, with a government agency.

  • Applicants selected for employment will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet additional eligibilityrequirements for access to classified information or materials.

  • Prefer Knowledge of commissioning supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.


  • 4-year degree in Engineering (or related field)

  • 15-20 years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience

  • Professional Engineer registration with active membership in a professional engineering society may be required

  • Proven ability to perform in a supervisory/managerial capacity

  • Must have excellent written and oral communications skills and prior experience in a consultative role like this with a government client

  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required

  • Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments.
