Position Summary:This is a labor pool from which the Division of Population Health Sciences will draw when assistants are needed to work on grant-funded and Division projects. The position will be part time. Incumbents will join faculty and researchers who are active in conducting research in various disciplines. This will include working on one or more funded projects under the guidance of Faculty and Principal Investigators.
Duties: Varies according to the project.
Student assistants perform research duties part-time under the direction or supervision of regular faculty members, and support the research initiatives of the institution. Students must be enrolled in 6 credits for the semester and maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA. Positions may be awarded for up to 20 hours per week during the academic year (Fall and Spring). During the summer and school breaks (winter and spring break), students may work up to 30 hours per week.
Students assist with varied tasks including quantitative and qualitative data collection, data entry, ongoing confidential data management, transcription entry and processing, data analysis, drafting of reports and presentations, project management tasks, and various other project tasks.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Works under general direction. Duties require considerable knowledge and skills. Exercises independent judgment and decision-making. Knowledge of research methods. Detail oriented; ability to work closely with a team to coordinate project data collection activities; experience conducting research in a team setting. Ability to use computerized tools to organize and analyze information and communicate findings.
