The Salvation Army is recruiting for a Receptionist position at the Corps Community Center.
Hours: 9AM - 4PM
SCOPE OF POSITION
The Corps Community Center receptionist is the first line in welcoming and creating an atmosphere of safety, excellence, and inspiration for the participants, family, and community. This position provides clerical support needed to maintain the programs of
the Anchorage Corps Community Center and connection with the community.
High School Diploma or equivalency.
Must be at least 18 years of age
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel is required; some knowledge of Power Point, Publisher, and Access is desired.
Ability to use diplomacy and good judgment when interacting with others and to maintain professional conduct at all times.
Experience using office equipment such as personal computer, copier, fax machine, and business telephones systems required.
Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Ability to attend and pass TSA Safe From Harm training.
Must be able to successfully pass background check.
Efficiently processes daily check in and out of program participants.
Maintains the corps community center calendar and opportunities, and communicates this information to the community in means that will enable their participation.
Effectively prepares and maintains necessary records while ensuring confidentiality of items including but not limited to statistics, membership applications, volunteer applications, and child safety.
Actively monitors the main doorways and hallways to ensure Safe from Harm procedures are maintained.
Completes office duties including but not limited to answering telephones, making copies, sending faxes, creating and maintaining files, and mail handling.
Sets up and coordinates meetings and takes and transcribes minutes as requested.
Assists staff and volunteers in preparing and coordinating program details including but not limited to calendars, arranging field trips, and supplies.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Work is performed inside a heated, cooled, and ventilated office setting. Noise level is low.
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent basis.
Ability to grasp, push and pull objects, and reach overhead.
Ability to operate telephones, computers, and other office equipment.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Vision and hearing within, or correct to, normal ranges.
