Please note: This position is temporary with expected duration of 3 months. After this time, candidate will be evaluated for full-time.
Intermediate level position performing quality control functions to assure compliance with project and Owner requirements under general supervision. Receives instruction on specific assignment objectives and work is reviewed by Quality Control Supervision.
Assist in the processing of installation procedures.
Notifies supervisors of any discrepancies found between work completed and material installed and Owner quality requirements.
Performing special process and field installation inspections and surveillance of equipment and materials.
Read and interpret project specific drawings, specifications and codes
Produce accurate, clear and understandable daily inspection and test reports
Maintain & Update Quality Control Documentation
Interface with Client representatives, Supervision and Electrical Administrator
Basic knowledge of computer operation. (Word, Excel, Access, FileMaker Pro)
Review engineering drawings and track quality progress based on scope of work document.
Will perform field and/or Fab Shop inspections.
Other job assignments as required.
Electrical inspections, this includes:
Wire and cable pulling
Polarity and Phase checks
Conduit and supports
Seal off fitting
Cable trays and raceways
Wire and cable termination's and tags
Electrical Heat Trace
Instrumentation inspections, this includes:
Tubing cutting, de-burring and bending
Use of depth measurement tool
Use of approved sealants
Tubing material type, grade, size and wall thickness
Tubing support and routing
Correct instruments installed per drawings and data sheets
The required instrument and tubing tests are performed required by the contract documents
BA/BS college or university degree in Engineering is preferred.
Minimum of 4 years field experience.
May substitute field experience for degree when approved the Quality Manager
Required Training & Certificates:
Must have a current Journeyman Certificate of Fitness from Alaska or a reciprocal state, or Current Electrical Administrator for the category(s) of the License or Electrical Engineering Degree and one of the above.
Attend training sessions, seminars, and appropriate educational classes as required by department.
Possess current knowledge of Engineering, Business Administration, quality control and organizational practices.
Have excellent written and oral communications applicable to standards set by organization.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, working knowledge with Microsoft Access and FileMaker Pro desirable.
