POSTION SUMMARY

The Temporary Community Center Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service experiences to guests and members in all areas of the facility. This will include greeting people, monitoring entries and exits, answering phones, front desk

management, programming, child care, simple janitorial management, occasional driving & vehicle maintenance, attendance to staff meetings, annual certification in Salvation Army safety coursework, pool and fitness equipment maintenance and other duties deemed

necessary for the efficient and effective operation of the program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

OPERATIONAL/PROGRAM

As part of the Community Center team, all employees share the following expectations and assigned duties:

Values – work with other staff, volunteers and members to instill positive attitudes, life skills development, Christian values and service to others.

Safety – ensure the safe participation of all members, guests and fellow staff in center activities and programs, adhering to center safety policies and procedures.

Maintenance – assist in the proper care and maintenance of the facility and equipment following designated maintenance procedures assigned by supervisors.

Security – work with center staff and directors to monitor and maintain the security of our facility.

Special Events – assist center staff as required in the planning, development and implementation of special events and programs throughout the year.

Employees may also be requested to perform other reasonable business related duties by their immediate supervisor.

  7. Custodial and simple property maintenance

  8. Driving & basic vehicle maintenance

  9. Attend staff meetings

  10. Annual certification; sexual harassment, Protect the Mission, vehicle driving & safety

  11. Pool & fitness equipment management and basic maintenance

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFACATIONS

  1. High School Diploma/GED minimum.

  2. Must be friendly, courteous, and professional.

  3. Regular on time and flexible schedule as necessary to appropriately manage center activities required.

  4. A criminal background check is required

SKILLS,KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

  1. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

  2. Must have excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Scheduling software, and/ or appropriate desktop applications as required.

  3. Must be self-motivated with the flexibility to work in dynamic, fast paced environment that is customer service driven and outcome oriented.

  4. Must be a person of high integrity.

  5. Ability to work in a team environment.

  6. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to carry out multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.

  7. Problem solving capabilities and the ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times while interacting with Community Center employees, guests, and the general public.

WORKING CONDITIONS

vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce

information from a computer, and to understand written information.
