Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sales cycle.

As part of the Oracle sales team you will direct and manage pre-sales resources throughout the sales cycle. Provides technical/functional leadership to the sales team in the development and implementation of customer applications and customer products. Participates in account planning and strategy development. May publishes technical information of specific applications and/or technical articles. Works with management to define new products. Serves as the company liaison on specific technical projects with customers.

Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Knowledge of software industry relating to all aspects of ebusiness solutions. Demonstrated leadership skills. Strong presentation skills. Ability to travel as needed. BA/BS degree or equivalent.

This position is in the Applications Sales Consulting team responsible for business applications sales for US Federal Civilian and DoD accounts. We are seeking an experienced and energetic pre-sales solution manager to support Oracle s leading portfolio of applications and industry solutions. The role covers a wide range of sales consulting activities, typically addressing the needs of the Application Sales Representatives, new and existing customers, and partners.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Sales Execution Task:* *

Demonstrate innovative approaches to sales cycles and pipeline development.

Balance the required presales investment with the value of each opportunity, challenging when appropriate

Engage the appropriate presales team for qualified sales opportunities, including the identification of a presales lead / solution champion.

-{PS..0}->Enforce consistent presales processes, including opportunity management, RFIs, dry-runs and discovery sessions, to ensure superior demos and presentations.

With select sales cycles, build strategic partnerships with key decision makers in customer organizations.

Monitor the impacts of each presales team member, throughout each sales cycle, in order to fairly compensate each, once the deal closes

Maintain high-level knowledge of Oracle s entire solution suite and key competitors

-{PS..1}->Balance the utilization level of the team, including investment in business development activities as necessary to build the pipeline for the aligned sales teams

Develops value propositions exploiting Oracle's total product and solutions capability in the designated industry

Provides license sales with appropriate presales support throughout the sales cycle

Works closely with and builds relationships with other Oracle Lines of Business, including Sales Management, Strategy, Development and Oracle Sales Consulting.

Set objectives and review the performance of the Sales Consulting team members and take action to ensure targets are met and individual Sales Consultants are developed

Support, coach and mentor individuals in achievement of their personal development needs. Manage competencies of the team to anticipate and meet demand. Provide skills development and training where required to provide these competencies

Recruit and induct new team members as required

Monitor the effectiveness of the Sales Consulting team in support specific opportunities

Identify areas of development for each team member and work with each to define and execute a tailored learning plan. Foster an atmosphere of continuous learning and improvement.

Monitor the development activities for your team members toward their industry and solution learning goals.

Provide formal oral and written feedback to your team members during annual performance management reviews, and ongoing goal review check-ins.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Prefer 2-4 years leading and managing teams.

Prefer 3-5 years business work experience with Cloud Applications / SaaS

-{PS..5}->Prefer 3-5 years of experience demonstrating, positioning and communicating the benefits of packaged software applications, preferably SaaS.

2-4 years of Oracle or other HCM/ERP Suite applications related experience desirable

Successful sales and /or consulting experience positioning applications solutions at an executive level would be an advantage

Ability to discuss key industry issues at multiple levels (C-Level to Functional Managers)
