Under the direct supervision of the Shop or Service Manager, the Technician is responsible for performing planned maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on various models of Hyster and competitive material handling equipment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematicsRepair or replace major system components, including electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, L.P. systems, power steering, transmissions, and engines with limited supervisionProperly identify and order all necessary replacement partsTroubleshoot and diagnose most truck componentsPerform engine tune-ups on most makes of equipment without supervisionPerform proper PM's in a timely mannerTroubleshoot and diagnose most complex electrical systems on internal combustion (IC) and electric trucksBe able to use all special tools properly, and maintain and properly use the normal tools of the tradeOperate service van in a clean, safe and secure manner following all required safety rules for the jobAssist with training/mentoring apprentice mechanics through on-the-job trainingFollow all safety procedures in performing work as well as company policiesDemonstrate exceptional customer service skillsPerform other duties as required or assigned by managementQualifications/RequirementsHigh school diploma or G.E.DMinimum of 2 years of experience in repair and maintenance on industrial equipment and/or machinesValid Driver's License (possess and maintain during employment)Demonstrated ability to repair equipment per skill levelBasic Computers knowledge including use of Personal Computers, Tablets, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)Desired CharacteristicsTechnical school graduateMinimum of 2 years of experience in repair and maintenance on material handling equipmentDemonstrated technical understanding of electric, LP gas, and diesel-powered enginesJob LocationAlbany, GAEEO/AA Employer.
