About The Opportunity

What you’ll do

Role Purpose

Facilitate continuous improvement implementation and employee involvement via project development and management, team & personal training facilitation and coaching. The primary objective of the site continuous improvement leader is to coach and influence the site leadership and employees to implement and sustain a positive continuous improvement change culture and positively trending operational results within their scope.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works to involve everyone in the pursuit of sustained beneficial change

  • Implements train-the-trainer approach and rapid, sustained implementation through learn-by-doing methods

  • Co-creates, sustains, revises and measures progress on the Site Continuous Improvement Plan

  • Focuses site teams on continuous improvement, by involving people in meeting productivity and site objectives

  • Facilitates improvement implementation through:

  • Employee teams

  • CI events

  • Team improvement projects

  • Lean Enterprise training workshops

  • Facilitates continuous improvement interventions and employee involvement teams throughout the site and within the supply community; may support other complementary sites

  • Assures that predicted improvements are implemented, measured, driven to closure and crossed to operating results

  • Identifies opportunities to implement common processes and best practices from other sites and businesses; Disseminates and acts upon relevant industry and corporate benchmarking data

  • Assures that predicted savings are tracked, validated and posted to the site’s operating results

  • Provides leadership, coaching and training in lean thinking, lean processes and lean production

About you

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced Technical Education or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of some Lean Production Tools (such as Toyota Production System, or equivalent) would be an advantage.

  • Proficient oral and written communication skills

  • Must work exceptionally well in team environments and be adept at motivating co-workers

  • Must be a proven leader within a relevant discipline and a quick learner who is adaptive to and embraces change

  • Essential computer literacy: Corporate desktop environment such as Microsoft Office suite, Lotus Notes, or equivalent.
