To manage a team of Incoming Materials Planners ensuring worldwide product availability for all of ADD's Lake County procured lower level components. This is done supporting the ADD policy of improving health care by providing high quality, safe and effective diagnostic products. The team will achieve this objective by balancing several dynamic and conflicting elements including cycle time management, inventory management, capacity planning, distressed inventory management, technical challenges, and productivity while maintaining the highest level of compliance. More specifically, the planning team develops materially feasible production plans that will ensure the highest level of customer service, maintain finished goods safety stock levels and manage production requirements for worldwide affiliates who source material from Lake County. This plan must also meet financial inventory and SCOP objectives.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

  • Translate inputs from technical meetings and marketing into a materially feasible production plan that ensures customer satisfaction along with responsible inventory investment.

  • Develop contingency plans in advance to facilitate immediate action in response to sales/inventory changes and daily production issues that negatively impact the production plan.

  • Define production strategy during product transitions including product launches, kills, conversions and transfers.

  • Guide cross-functional team to prioritize DP/CR related activities ensuring need by dates are met; remove barriers and elevate issues as required.

  • Set monthly plan to achieve Burden and year-end inventory projections.

  • Responsible for daily team huddles and providing elevations up through the organization

Position Accountability/Scope:

  • Work in conjunction with Purchasing and IQA on incoming materials planning process.

  • Responsible for BOFR (Bulk Order Fill Rate) and for establishing/maintaining Supply Chain Agreements with ADD's European Manufacturing Sites.

  • In conjunction with Purchasing, shared responsibility to achieve SOTIF (Supplier On Time in Full) targets and maintain Class A program.

  • To be an advocate and have experience in Lean Management Principles

  • Maintain planned distressed inventory profile.

  • Target 95%+ finished kit product availability.

  • Build a capable and effective team; develop business and leadership skills/talents of individuals.

  • Expertise in planning, purchasing, logistic and supplier management principles and best practices.

  • Maintain affiliate component delivery performance.

  • Work closely with ADD Procurement to assure supply of commodities and Biologics for Lake County site.

  • Staff Accountability: 3 direct reports

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's Degree: B.S. Life Science/Math/Business or equivalent experience in Production Planning

Master's Degree desired.

Other: APICS certification preferred.

Minimum Experience/Training Required:

  • Minimum of five years planning and procurement experience.

  • Full knowledge of MRP, MPS, and SAP.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with database software.

  • Strong PC skills including solid understanding of spreadsheet applications.

  • Project management experience is desired.
