Silver Hills, manufacturer and marketer of Silver Hills Sprouted Bakery, Little Northern Bakehouse, and One Degree Organic Foods is looking for a Director, Business Development to join the team.
Who are we looking for...
Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, our new Director, Business Development will play a crucial role in the long-term growth and profitability of Silver Hills. This role will lead the development, oversight, execution, and tracking of strategic business plans for the Canadian and US business (including Retail, Private Label, and Food Service).
This is a very exciting time for the Sales team as we continue to grow and expand! In this role, you will collaborate with Marketing, Finance, and Field Sales to develop sound trade-marketing and sales strategies and ensure priorities and objectives are aligned across all brands and branches of the Sales organization. You will have the opportunity to develop and lead our Business Development team that owns meaningful reporting, solid category management-based sales materials, annual planning and forecasting processes, as well as supports new item launches and influences future product innovation and retailer/market expansion. It will be critical not to lose sight of the big picture as we continue to evolve and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. You have trade marketing and system knowledge skills
You have a solid business development background

You have a strong familiarity with syndicated data and strategic data capabilities
You have exceptional communication, relationship building, and negotiation skills
You have highly proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
You have a relevant Undergraduate Degree
You have 7+ years in manufacturer CPG experience
You have 3+ years of Category Management experience
You have people management experience (3 or more direct reports)
- Familiarity with Mac
Things you will do?
Proactively bring forth opportunities and ideas to maximize volume, profitability, and overall efficiency
Assist in developing Sales & Marketing plans, objectives, key priorities and initiatives
Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships that will drive growth and profitability
Expand actionable reporting that can be used throughout the organization for key business decisions
Develop and maintain category management-based sales materials for all branches of the Field Sales Team in Canada and the US ? Natural, Retail, Private Label, and Food Service
Implement and own the Sales planning process that includes TPM system maintenance and input process, analysis for forecasting and trade budgeting, deduction management and plan reconciliation
Develop and lead people on our Business Development team and drive culture within the BDT/Sales group
Manage the Customer Service / Order Entry process and team
- Ability to travel internationally on occasion
