Centers of Expertise (COE) Director
The role’s purpose is to manage the Centers of Excellence (COE) that develop and implement best in class analytical solutions to reach our business goals, enable business transformation and differentiated customer experience. This role helps the organization improve its daily decisions by incorporating relevant data and insights into the process through rigorous testing discipline, independent forecasting of portfolios, a robust valuation analytical platform and the development of models that enable client level decisions.
Set direction of the Centers of Excellence and makes sure the right priorities are set
Ability to learn & understand business priorities
Responsible for the creation, approval, tracking and maintenance of statistical methodologies that allow us to make pricing decisions in multiple unsecure credit portfolios. (e.g., today we are starting to use ML models together with and NPV calculation to make pricing decisions)
Responsible for the ideation, valuation and optimization of pricing proposals across multiple products. E.g., teaser rates promotions in credit cards.
Responsible for optimization of credit and non-credit offers sent to clients in each campaign. We regulate credit offers in campaigns for installments and credit lines worth many billion USD. Final offers sent add up to 75% of this potential; therefore, improvements in the amount of offer sent or selection of what is sent can have an important impact on the bank P&L.
Also, we need to build the decision engine to further optimize our decision taking into account a key variable: channel. We are incorporating new channels where we can sell products so considering channel propensity, performance, among others can have an important effect.
Responsible for the creation, approval and maintenance of models that allow Citibanamex’s to make better day to day decisions across multiple business areas. Discovering insights and identifying opportunities through using state-of-the art statistical methods and leveraging as much information in our data lake and data marts.
Implementing best in class testing methodologies that allow the maximization of learning and optimize the required testing universe (e.g., design experiment)
Coordination of bank wide testing efforts and transform into an institutional learning mechanism
Responsible for monthly independent forecast of our key portfolios used by Finance and business to build commitments .
Education: Bachelor´s Degree in Statistics, Finance, Math, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or other related field (Master degree preferred).
Strong business acumen and analytic ability with capability of identifying business trends and opportunities.
More than 7-10 years of experience in relevant quantitative analytics.
Have a combination of business focus, strong analytical and problem solving skills
Experience in data mining, predictive modeling, and distributed computing.
Collaboration skills & great consultative skills
Strong programming skills and statistical modeling & predictive.
Proficiency in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting / predictive analytics, multivariate testing, optimization algorithms, etc.
Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.
Experience with common data science toolkits, such as Python, R, NumPy, etc
Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig, etc.
Excellent written and communication skills to report back finding in a structured, clear, simple way.
Experience in leading teams of Data Scientists.
Strong execution skills and results oriented approach.
Experience in negotiation and conflict management.
Act with curiosity and takes the initiative to identify problems, offer creative solutions and resolve issues
Passionate about decision science and the value that can be created through information analysis.
Able to connect seemingly unrelated questions, problems, or ideas from different industries or fields to deliberately assemble new perspectives or realign those of others and the organization.
